Maintenance Team Leader
The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for managing and supervising the maintenance team at the metro food production facility.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations of the maintenance team, including task assignment, guidance, documentation for food safety and equipment safety, and ensuring targets and safety protocols are met.
- Ensure safe operation and compliance of the USDA manufacturing facility maintenance team with regulatory and corporate safety and environmental standards.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine repair strategies.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
- Ensure adherence to checklists, including inspections of drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, and filters.
- Organize maintenance activities to minimize production downtime.
- Assist in preparing and managing maintenance budgets.
- Follow safety policies, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and tools.
- Maintain building safety, security standards, and GMP guidelines.
- Recruit, train, develop, and manage team members to build a high-performing team.
- Handle team member relations, documentation, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as OSHA, USDA, HACCP, FSMA, FDA, and others.
- Promote a positive work environment of teamwork and respect.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment and 12+ months of supervisory experience.
- Relevant certifications such as CMRP, CPMM, or similar are preferred.
- OSHA safety certification or relevant safety training.
- Experience managing maintenance projects from start to finish.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical instructions.
- Experience working with external contractors and service providers.
- Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications.
- Understanding of ERP processes in food manufacturing.
- Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to build partnerships with stakeholders.
- Passion for food and commitment to sustainability.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Adherence to dress code and PPE standards.
- Ability to perform job functions with reasonable accommodation.
- Use of hand tools and exposure to various temperatures and chemicals.
- Work in wet and dry conditions, possibly using ladders.

The wage range for this position is $79,040 - $107,120 annually, depending on experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits," including health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid time off, and other programs. Eligibility is determined at hire.
