Description

Tate's Bake Shop is looking for a second shift Maintenance Lead that will lead the efforts of keeping the production and facility equipment operating efficiently at the East Moriches location. You would lead by example when testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining our machines and equipment. As a lead, you would be responsible for addressing any issues related to the machinery and mechanical equipment in our manufacturing plant in a timely manner. You will support the Preventative Maintenance Program and help ensure downtime is minimized. As one of our mechanics, you will analyze problems, interpret technical information necessary to make needed repairs on equipment, and complete assigned work orders ensuring all work assignments are completed and accurate records are maintained.

What can you expect on the job?

• Mechanical troubleshooting: pneumatic switches, valves, and cylinders.
• Diagnose, repair gear box, bearing, and conveyor systems problems.
• Must possess trouble be shooting abilities in electrical (relay logic), and general building electrical systems.
• Set up, diagnose, and repair high speed wrapping machines in a time conscious environment.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all production equipment in assigned area under the guidance of higher-level production mechanics
• Maintain open, accurate communication with other maintenance employees as well as production, quality compliance, and safety management
• Complete all assigned work orders completely and accurately document and returned to planner all information describing the completion of the work order
• Perform technical maintenance tasks under close supervision
• Ability to make building repairs (i.e., sheetrock, plumbing, fixtures, switches, carpentry, etc.)
• Provide all information necessary to maintain proper parts inventories
• Work with production teams to identify process improvements wherever possible
• Perform all work in a safe manner following all company's safety policies and Procedures
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Other related duties as assigned

What will make you successful in the role?

• 1+ year experience in a lead role preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with accuracy and speed
• Ability to coordinate programs, prepare reports and maintain accurate records
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
• Excellent planning and leadership abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office software programs.

What should you bring?

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Vocational / Technical training required
• 4+ years' experience in machine maintenance in manufacturing or pharmaceutical
• 3 years Performing Preventative Maintenance preferred
• Food Manufacturing preferred

What will your schedule look like?

• Monday through Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
• Occasional weekends
• Must be able to travel to Shirley and Southampton
