Nike Air Manufacturing Innovation in Beaverton seeks a Team Coach Maintenance N1 to lead a team of maintenance professionals responsible for plastics processing equipment across extrusion, thermoforming and injection molding. You will balance planned and unplanned work to minimize facility disruption.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 3 years in industrial maintenance, experience with PLCs, electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to work 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field.
  • 3 years plastics manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Electrical safety, troubleshooting, and repair including PLCs and 480V systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and use CMMS/SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one maintenance team to support four shifts and ensure timely repairs.
  • Perform PMs, repairs, and improvements to maintain uptime.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manage parts and repairs.
  • Utilize controls, electrical, hydraulics, and piping knowledge to fix equipment.
  • Support documentation and reporting in CMMS; track parts.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

As a Team Coach in Maintenance reporting to the Maintenance Head Coach, you will lead a team of maintenance professionals to execute facilities and equipment maintenance and upkeep following predefined specifications. You'll balance priorities across planned and unplanned work to ensure that facility disruption is kept to a minimum. You'll develop and work with a highly motivated team skilled in industrial maintenance to maintain and repair plastics manufacturing equipment in extrusion, thermoforming and injection molding processes.

N1: T/W/TH and every other Monday - 5:30 pm - 5:30 am

Typical Capabilities
  • Scope: Manages multiple professionals, but direct/indirect reports may include Associate track roles. Manages operational initiatives and achieves team goals through leading team.
  • Problem Solving: Applies evaluation and judgment to select the right course of action and uses sophisticated analytical or problem-solving skills to identify cause of issues. Utilizes past experience or precedent to identify solutions or adapt existing approaches to resolve the issue. Communicates information to audiences who are not familiar with the subject matter.
  • Leadership: Accountable for meeting short-term to medium-term targets that impact the department or team. Responsible for performance management, pay, training and resourcing decisions.
Education Requirement

Bachelor's degree required in the relevant or a related field, or any acceptable combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in the relevant or a related field.

The candidate needs to have demonstrated strong problem-solving ability necessary to identify defects and repair industrial equipment. To be successful in this role a candidate should have familiarity and training with electrical, mechanical, and fluid system safety, diagnostics, and repair.

Required Skills & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Post high school Technical/Vocational school degree or education or related Military training in industrial maintenance technology and industrial electrical systems
  • 3 years industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing
  • Electrical safety, troubleshooting, and repair experience including
    • PLC control systems (Siemens and Allen Bradley preferred)
    • AC electrical systems and components up to 3-phase 480-volt
    • DC electrical systems and components
    • Replacement of components including drives, motors, pumps, heaters, switches and HMI panels
  • Experience working with basic hand tools, machine shop equipment, precision measuring instruments, digital multi-meters, cutting and welding equipment
  • Ability to read and understand documentation and drawings for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Personal computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and background using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). SAP is preferred.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including possible evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to lift objects up to 50lbs
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience working with plastic processing equipment and processes including extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, and support equipment such as driers, loaders and transfer systems.
  • Experience and/or certification working with common Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and variable frequency drives
  • Experience and/or certification working with industrial automation and robotics (Denso and ABB preferred)
  • Familiarity with reliability-based maintenance programs and principles
  • Ability to be certified to operate forklifts, man lifts, and scissor lifts

  • Our 24/7 production facilities rely on experienced industrial maintenance professionals to perform preventative maintenance, deploy projects to decrease downtime, and quickly respond to equipment issues and return assets to production. Our Maintenance team supports the facility in teams aligned to each of the four shifts.
  • As a Team Coach you will be leading one of these teams supporting one of our production shifts. Collaboration and communication are core to our values and how we come together to win as a team. You will work alongside a team that thrives in a fast-paced environment - delivering solutions to issues and maximizing uptime.
  • You will ensure repairs or modifications to production equipment is done utilizing your team’s skills in: Controls, drawings, electrical, general mechanics, hand tools, hydraulics, machine shop, piping systems, PLC knowledge, pneumatics, RF, troubleshooting, welding, and programming
  • As a Team Coach, you ensure we perform PMs on production equipment and determine through these regular inspections the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent failure of production equipment and improve reliability.
  • As needed contact vendors, research problems, identify potential components, order maintenance machine parts. Track and turn in repairable flagged parts. Elevate part issues to management quickly with potential solutions if known.
