Job description

A Support Technician at Nemacolin assists in maintaining the resort’s facilities, grounds, and operational spaces through dependable daily support, general maintenance, and property care. This role contributes to a clean, safe, and functional environment by responding to operational needs, caring for equipment and work areas, and completing assignments with efficiency and attention to detail. It offers an opportunity to build practical skills across property operations, equipment care, waste management, and seasonal support while developing a foundation for continued growth within the Engineering Department.

What You Will Create
  • A well-maintained resort environment by providing dependable general labor and property support across resort facilities, including firewood and propane delivery, pressure washing, leaf blowing, furniture movement, and other daily operational assignments
  • Clean, safe, and responsibly maintained work areas by collecting, transporting, and disposing of trash appropriately while following established environmental and safety practices
  • A responsible approach to resort waste management by properly separating recyclable materials, including glass, paper, and plastic, and supporting established recycling procedures
  • Reliable operational support through proper equipment use by safely and effectively operating trash compactors and other equipment required to complete assigned work
  • Responsive support for changing resort needs by coordinating daily assignments across designated areas, prioritizing responsibilities, and completing work efficiently with limited supervision
  • Functional equipment and work areas by performing basic repairs or replacement of defective equipment components using appropriate hand and power tools
  • Seasonal and property-wide readiness by supporting snow removal, rotating assignments, and other Engineering Team functions as operational needs require
  • A dependable partnership with the Engineering Team by communicating effectively with colleagues and leadership, caring for resort property, and completing assigned responsibilities in a manner that supports the broader operation
What You Can Expect
  • A hands-on role supporting the daily operation and appearance of a large, complex resort
  • The opportunity to develop practical maintenance, equipment, property-care, and operational skills within the Engineering Team
  • Work that takes place across a variety of resort facilities and environments rather than behind a desk
  • A position where priorities can shift based on weather, occupancy, events, maintenance needs, and other operational demands
  • Regular collaboration with the Engineering Team associates and other resort teams
  • A role that requires physical activity, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently
  • Opportunities to broaden your skills and take on greater responsibilities as experience and capability develop
  • A flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
What You Bring
  • A dependable, hands-on approach and pride in completing physical work to a high standard
  • The ability to follow directions, prioritize assignments, and remain productive with limited supervision
  • A willingness to learn new equipment, tools, procedures, and maintenance practices
  • Strong awareness of workplace safety and the ability to handle equipment and materials responsibly
  • The ability to work effectively with associates across Engineering and other resort departments
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach
  • The flexibility to respond to changing assignments and operational priorities
  • The physical capability to perform the essential functions of the role, including lifting, transporting, and working outdoors as needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to speak English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
  • Previous maintenance, facilities, hospitality, landscaping, custodial, or related experience is helpful, but equivalent hands-on experience and a willingness to learn may be considered
Additional Information

This job description reflects the primary responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position and is intended to provide a general understanding of the role. Responsibilities may evolve as business and operational needs change, and additional duties may be assigned to support the Engineering Team and resort operations.
