Job summary

National Beef is seeking a Weekend Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team on weekends at our North Baltimore, OH facility. The role focuses on safety, equipment uptime, and adherence to plant policies.

You will coach and develop staff, drive downtime reduction, and collaborate with other departments to resolve maintenance issues. Qualified candidates should have PLC/controls experience, refrigeration knowledge, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Critical-thinking skills and PLC/controls experience.
• Refrigeration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance activities for weekend shift while maintaining safety and food safety standards.
• Coach, train, and develop maintenance team members.
• Audit and eliminate unsafe hazards in the plant.
• Ensure adherence to plant policies and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments on maintenance issues.
• Address conflicts and motivate the team to meet goals.
• Assist with emergency management and shift hand-offs.
• Work with the First Shift supervisor on daily direction.
• Lead process improvement activities and track work using E-Maintenance.
• Use downtime reports to optimize PM schedules and equipment uptime.
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair of down equipment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and inspect building elements.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Oversee maintenance activities for weekend shift keeping consistent with Safety, Food Safety, OSHA, and National Beef standards
• Coach, train, instruct, develop, and evaluate maintenance team members
• Audit and eliminate any unsafe hazards in the plant
• Ensure that all team members adhere to plant policies, Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, and safety standards
• Collaborate with other departments regarding maintenance issues
• Conflict resolution
• Motivate maintenance team to achieve goals and standards while holding them accountable
• Emergency management
• Communication/hand-off to incoming shift
• Work with the First Shift supervisor for daily direction and goal setting for the maintenance department
• Lead or participate in process improvement activities
• Use E-Maintenance software to track open and completed work for the department
• Use downtime reports and other data to optimize equipment PM’s and increase equipment uptime
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair of down equipment
• Conduct performance evaluations
• Routinely inspect various elements of the building and grounds
• Other duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an ON-SITE position.
