Job summary

National Beef is seeking a qualified 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor at our North Baltimore, Ohio facility. The role leads the maintenance team, ensures safety and food safety standards, and drives continuous improvement in equipment uptime and preventive maintenance.

You will coach technicians, coordinate with other shifts, and enforce plant policies daily. The position is safety sensitive and on-site, with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits described in the posting.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee maintenance activities for 2nd shift keeping consistent with Safety, Food Safety, OSHA, and National Beef standards
• Coach, train, instruct, develop, and evaluate maintenance team members
• Audit and eliminate any unsafe hazards in the plant
• Ensure that all team members adhere to plant policies, Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, and safety standards
• Collaborate with other departments regarding maintenance issues
• Conflict resolution
• Motivate maintenance team to achieve goals and standards while holding them accountable
• Emergency management
• Communication/hand-offwith first shift and third shift team
• Work with the First Shift supervisor for daily direction and goal setting for the maintenance department
• Lead or participate in process improvement activities
• Use E-Maintenance software to track open and completed work for the department
• Use downtime reports and other data to optimize equipment PM's and increase equipment uptime
• Assist with troubleshooting and repair of down equipment
• Conduct performance evaluations
• Routinely inspect various elements of the building and grounds
• Other duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an ON-SITE position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Maintenance Supervisor position should possess the following:

• Ability to identify issues and decide on required actions
• Competence to plan maintenance schedules
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Competency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite
• Critical-thinking skills
• PLC and Controls experience
• Refrigeration experience a plus
