Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the Albany Lumber facility in Albany, Georgia. This role leads the maintenance team, drives safety and reliability initiatives, and partners with Operations to optimize asset performance.

In this role you will mentor staff, manage weekly schedules, oversee PM and corrective work orders, and ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards while maintaining equipment reliability and production throughput.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a manufacturing, industrial or military environment.
• Experience directly supervising others within a manufacturing, industrial or military environment.
• Knowledge of reliability concepts and implementing precision maintenance techniques and lubrication best practices to improve equipment reliability.
• Experience in leading efforts in reliability, PMs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP or MP2.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor employees to apply Principle Based Management in ways that are consistent with our Guiding Principles.
• Lead the organization toward excellence in safety, environmental, health, and compliance by identifying and resolving hazards with critical and high risks (risk management).
• Staff, develop, lead, mentor, coach and hold direct reports accountable for maintenance department results that are impacted by people’s performance and capability.
• Responsible for creating a culture that drives ownership and continuous improvement that aligns with our safety and operations vision.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with Operations to achieve departmental KPI goals and close gaps to reach assets full potential.
• Ensure the annual performance development process is successfully carried out for employees in the department: roles, responsibilities, and expectations (RREs) established and aligned with mill goals with ongoing coaching.
• Manage environmental, health and safety risk associated with site maintenance activity.
• Support mill as a knowledgeable resource for mechanical/operational systems.
• Manage and develop weekly schedules to optimize maintenance craft utilization from planned work; oversee PM and precision maintenance with corrective work orders.
• Support maintenance and facility housekeeping along with stewardship of site and asset appearance.
• Be measured against teams' involvement with asset maintenance work process KPI’s.
• Be flexible with schedule supporting night shift and down-day execution on weekends.
