Georgia-Pacific is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Maintenance Supervisor/Planner to join our team at the Portland, OR Distribution Centers. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with the flexibility to operate across our Portland locations, overseeing a team of 10-14 skilled hourly employees. This position is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by engaging with various teams to meticulously plan, coordinate, and oversee maintenance activities. The Maintenance Supervisor/Planner will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement, ultimately contributing to the success and reliability of our distribution operations.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific Northwest Service Center (GP NWSC) encompasses three expansive warehouses distributed across two strategic campuses in North Portland. Our core business operations focus on the shipping and receiving of Consumer Products, including bath tissue, paper towels, and napkins. The St. Johns area hosts approximately 1.5 million square feet of warehouse space, with our Rivergate campus positioned along the Willamette River and the Kelly Point location situated roughly one mile inland on Lombard. Collectively, the NWSC employs around 100 dedicated professionals across Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, and various support roles, ensuring the seamless functioning of our distribution network.

What You Will Do

  • Safety and Leadership: Act as a leader in fostering the plant's safety culture, conducting safety awareness meetings, ensuring safe work practices, and maintaining good housekeeping standards.
  • Maintenance Planning and Coordination: Proactively plan and scope maintenance work, develop standard maintenance procedures, and coordinate with production, maintenance leads, and parts coordinators to manage daily routes and maintenance tasks using the CMMS.
  • Execution and Oversight: Support and oversee maintenance work execution, ensuring compliance with company policies and verifying contractor work quality and compliance.
  • Team Development and Management: Coach and develop team members, provide timely feedback, manage performance, and ensure team adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Control costs and spending to meet budget constraints, while identifying and recommending improvement opportunities.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain essential maintenance records, documentation systems, SOPs, and WIs, and ensure the development and updating of equipment data and BOMs.
  • Preventative Maintenance Monitoring: Monitor and coordinate preventative maintenance based on the production schedule to optimize equipment availability and downtime.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in a maintenance function within an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in a supervisory or maintenance planning role in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP work management system
  • Associate degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or completion of a relevant trade school program.
  • Experience with parts inventory management and controls
