in Suffolk, VA is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to supervise the maintenance team and assist the Service Manager with a wide range of mechanical and construction tasks to keep the community safe and well maintained. The position requires responding to service requests, performing preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, painting, drywall, carpentry, and related trades, and coordinating on-site activities with residents and team members.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English.
• General mechanical aptitude and ability.
• EPA certification for Freon recovery and HVAC certification.

Responsibilities

• Abides by Fair Housing Laws.
• Assumes responsibility for managerial duties in the absence of the Service Manager.
• Performs mechanical/construction duties including HVAC, plumbing, painting, drywall, laying tile, carpentry, welding, electrical repairs.
• Respond promptly to service calls and perform preventative maintenance.
• Supervises on-site maintenance and repairs of properties.
• Other duties as assigned.
