Job summary

S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager for our Mallory community in Hampton, VA. You will supervise maintenance staff and perform mechanical and construction tasks to keep the property safe, clean and attractive.

The role requires HVAC/plumbing experience, EPA and HVAC certificates, and a valid driver's license, with after-hours responsiveness as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English.
• Prior experience with mechanical maintenance and supervisory tasks.
• HVAC and refrigeration related certificates are required.
• Valid driver’s license required when operating a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Oversees maintenance staff in the absence of the Service Manager.
• Performs mechanical/construction tasks including HVAC, plumbing, painting, drywall, carpentry, welding, electrical repairs.
• Responds to service calls and conducts preventive maintenance.
• Ensures residents live in a clean, safe and attractive environment.
