Job summary

The Rockefeller & Loraine Apartments in downtown Norfolk is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to supervise the maintenance team and ensure residents enjoy a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment. You will perform a range of mechanical and construction tasks and step in for the Service Manager as needed.

This on-site role requires prior mechanical aptitude, English literacy, and HVAC/EPA certifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English.
• General mechanical aptitude for maintenance tasks.
• HVAC and EPA Freon recovery knowledge/certification.

Responsibilities

• Abides by Fair Housing Laws.
• Assumes responsibility for managerial duties in the absence of the Service Manager.
• Performs skilled and semi-skilled mechanical/construction duties (HVAC, plumbing, painting, drywall, tile, carpentry, welding, electrical repairs).
• Responds promptly to service calls.
• Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical and lawn care equipment.
• Supervises and participates on-site in maintenance and repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.
