Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a facilities maintenance leader to direct a team of technicians and maintenance specialists, ensuring uninterrupted operations and adherence to safety standards.

You will guide corrective and preventive tasks, manage budgeting, and provide technical oversight for building and material handling systems. The role requires strong leadership, blueprint-reading ability, and experience with industrial refrigeration systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, not required.
• 1-3 years of leadership experience required, 3-5 years preferred.
• Ability to read/sketch blueprints, shop drawings and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of industrial motors and motor controls.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the site maintenance team to ensure continuous operations.
• Oversee corrective and preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assign work and manage budget and documentation.
• Maintain and service refrigeration systems, including Freon and ammonia.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements at all times.
• Monitor KPIs and drive improvements in operational metrics.
• Hires and develops team, fields disciplinary actions as needed.
• Read, interpret, and communicate safety, operating, and maintenance instructions.
