Job summary

Barkan Management Company seeks a qualified maintenance supervisor to oversee and manage all maintenance responsibilities at a full-time, in-person role based in Hallowell, ME.

You will supervise plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general operations, while cultivating strong relationships with residents, employees, and vendors. This position emphasizes safety, service quality, and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience in various maintenance areas including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building operations.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Ability to supervise and direct third-party vendors and contractors.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• General computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Cultivating and maintaining relationships with residents, employees, and vendors.
• Negotiating, coordinating, and managing services/contracts for operation of the property and ensuring contractors/vendors are compliant.
• Scheduling and performing service responses to ensure timely, satisfactory results.
• Cycle painting.
• Scheduling or supervising preventative maintenance programs for site equipment per manuals and manufacturer recommendations.
• Scheduling or supervising plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and special projects.
• Purchasing and maintaining inventories of supplies and materials.
• Scheduling or supervising all site janitorial work.
• Scheduling or supervising site groundwork.
• Completing daily/weekly building/site inspections; scheduling necessary work.
• Scheduling and supervising 3rd party vendors
