Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years in buildings, grounds and equipment maintenance, with at least 3 years in supervision.
• Must complete required preservice training.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the administrative and maintenance services of the department.
• Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and implement department changes as approved.
• Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenditures.
• Develop and ensure adherence to facility maintenance plans and procedures.
• Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment for proper repair and safety compliance.
• Perform maintenance tasks and manage the work order system.
• Supervise and evaluate detainees assigned to the department.
• Coordinate with other facility staff to determine maintenance needs.
