Job summary

NHC Somerville is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor/Director who can organize, direct, perform, and supervise the maintenance and repair program for buildings and grounds. The role requires coordinating with other departments and ensuring safety, functionality, and cleanliness of facilities.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of maintenance experience handling mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and can read blueprints and technical manuals.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or technical school diploma.
• 2+ years experience in maintenance; mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals; knowledge of codes.
• Ability to plan and direct maintenance programs and lead others.
• Knowledge of cost estimation and departments' equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, performs and supervises maintenance program including inspecting, repairing, and maintaining buildings, equipment, and systems (like plumbing, electrical, HVAC) to ensure functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
• Orients, instructs and supervises other maintenance personnel.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment for department activities.
