Job summary

NHC Somerville is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor/Director who can organize, direct, perform, and supervise the maintenance and repair program for buildings and grounds. The role requires coordinating with other departments and ensuring safety, functionality, and cleanliness of facilities.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of maintenance experience handling mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and can read blueprints and technical manuals.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or technical school diploma.
• 2+ years experience in maintenance; mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals; knowledge of codes.
• Ability to plan and direct maintenance programs and lead others.
• Knowledge of cost estimation and departments' equipment.

Pay: Negotiable Depending On Experience

Experience in Long term care/Assisted Living facility a plus!

• Plans, directs, performs and supervises maintenance program including inspecting, repairing, and maintaining buildings, equipment, and systems (like plumbing, electrical, HVAC) to ensure functionality, safety, and cleanliness, often through preventative tasks, responding to work orders, performing general fixes (carpentry, painting, groundskeeping), and documenting all activities. Requires skills in troubleshooting, prioritizing, tool use, and following safety protocol.
• Orients, instructs and supervises other maintenance personnel.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment for use in department activities.

Maintenance Director of NHC Somerville

NHC Somerville is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who is able to organize, direct, perform, and supervise the maintenance and repair program involving buildings and grounds. In addition, the Director coordinates maintenance and repair activities with functions of other departments. The qualified applicant for this position must have at least 2 years’ experience in maintenance and various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and must be able to deal tactfully with patients and families.

• Ability to read and interpret blue prints. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals. Knowledge of local codes and ordinances. Knowledge of safety regulations.
• Ability to plan and carry out programs in repair or new construction and/or installation. Ability to direct others.
• Knowledge of record keeping and cost estimating.
• Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment.
• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients.
• Requires "on-call" on some weekends and after-hours.
