Responsibilities

• Supervise and delegate work to the Maintenance group.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and areas kept clean and orderly.
• Review maintenance budget with Plant Manager and plan asset needs.
• Set department working hours with Plant Manager approval.
• Maintain electronic records of maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure all processes and documentation are ISO-compliant.
• Perform emergency and scheduled maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, and test equipment as needed.
• Plan installation and repairs of electrical components and wiring.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
• Be available for emergency call-back.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary from time to time.

• Directly responsible for supervising and delegating work to the Maintenance group.
• Ensure the facility is in compliance with all safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Review maintenance budget and work with Plant Manager in determining fixed asset needs.
• Set working hours for the department and obtain approval through Plant Manager.
• Track and maintain electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines and facilities.
• Ensure all processes, procedures, and documentation are ISO-compliant.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Accept responsibility for all aspects of the installation and maintenance of production machines and all of the plant’s equipment.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and test and adjust equipment as needed.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Detect faulty operations, and defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisors or maintenance personnel.
• Troubleshoot and repair Allen Bradley products and program A & B PLC., and program IDEC touch screens.
• Responsible for the planning, installation, and repairs of all electrical components and associated wiring including low-voltage systems installation and maintenance.
• Maintain complicated electrical and electronic systems and equipment used in various processes including but not limited to electrical AC/DC, electrical/air control, air and plumbing, water/honey pumps.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
• Be available for Emergency call-back.
• Be willing to learn additional skills as necessary to oversee the maintenance of the production facility.
• Perform all other duties needed or assigned by Plant Manager and/or Assistant Plant Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1 st class Hydronic License required.
• Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English.
• Must have a good work ethic.
• History of excellent attendance record.
• Computer skills are required.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must be able to communicate and work well with others.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be available to work as needed including overtime and Saturdays.
• Close vision abilities, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Ability to lift up to 50 LBS.

Description of the Work Environment:This position is part of the Sioux City plant and most of the work will take place within the plant portion of the facility. This position will come in contact with many other employees within the facility and it is the expectation of the organization that we always maintain an attitude of dignity and respect when interacting with each other.
