Job summary

MW Components in Addison, IL seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, installations and repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems at the facility. You will read blueprints, use a range of hand and power tools, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with team members to improve plant efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferred.
  • 3+ years in maintenance within manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and safety PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake preventative and general maintenance, installations and repairs on electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Use standard and specific maintenance tools to diagnose and fix issues.
  • Record, instructions and prints must be maintained accurately.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures including EHS, Hazcom, LOTO.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and plant efficiency.

Job description

  • Under the direction of a Lead/Supervisor perform preventative maintenance, general maintenance, installations and repairs to electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment/systems and/or routine maintenance duties on the facility, building grounds, equipment and machinery at the site
  • Use standard and special maintenance/repair tools including, but not limited to hand tools, saws, drills, cutting devices, grinding tools, measuring devices, etc.
  • Work with an attitude toward continuous improvement with a team approach to problem-solving and decision making.
  • Prioritize and assign jobs, monitor variances.
  • Ensure that appropriate records, instructions and prints are maintained.
  • Perform duties a safe manner at all times.
  • Follow policies and procedures including manufacturer’s instructions and related regulations (EHS, Hazcom, LOTO, electrical/mechanical safety, etc.)
  • Perform Machine Maintenance
  • Perform Plant and operations maintenance
  • Operating Procedures and/or work instructions. Is responsible for the quality of own work
  • Follows schedules, procedures and 6S housekeeping practices
  • Be goal-oriented toward manufacturing cost and work center efficiency
  • Offers ideas, suggestions, and improvement concepts for improving the utilization and productivity of the Maintenance Department
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and industrial automation (advanced skills are a plus).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
