Job summary

The San Diego Convention Center Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems. You will manage internal trades staff, review work orders, and ensure repairs meet safety and code standards while minimizing event disruption.

Key responsibilities include staffing, backlog reduction, CMMS usage, inspections, budgets, and coordinating vendor work.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3 years in trades or facilities maintenance; 2 years in lead/supervisory role.
  • Experience operating a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of Title 24 and building codes is desirable.
  • Valid California driver's license is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and contracts.
  • Strong math and numerical skills for calculations and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems.
  • Ability to adapt to a fluid schedule including weekends; 24/7 operation possible.
  • Commitment to safety and OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees internal trades staff and assists with staffing schedules.
  • Review maintenance work orders to diagnose problems and ensure quality repairs.
  • Monitor backlog and implement strategies to reduce it.
  • Collaborate with management and engineering to manage repairs with minimal event disruption.
  • Inspect work in progress and on completion for compliance with plans and standards.
  • Utilize CMMS to manage work orders and asset records.
  • Follow preventive maintenance programs and building code requirements.
  • Coordinate facility shutdowns for maintenance and calibration activities.
  • Ensure staff follow SOPs and propose procedural improvements.
  • Lead safety program adherence and OSHA compliance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and reports.
  • Assist with budget planning and inventory management.
  • Plan and assist in capital projects; support execution.
  • Direct contract laborers and vendors to meet standards.
  • Develop work plans with internal stakeholders and streamline processes.
  • Maintain contract service agreements and collaborate with Procurement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
