Job summary

Mark-Taylor Residential Inc. is seeking a Manager of Facilities and Service (Maintenance Supervisor) for Cactus Forty-2 in Phoenix, AZ.

You will lead the Service Technicians, Facilities Technicians and Housekeepers, while performing hands‑on maintenance to uphold community value and resident satisfaction. This role requires 3+ years in maintenance plus certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, OSHA) and a solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Maintenance leadership experience; 3+ years in apartment maintenance roles.
• Experience supervising service technicians or equivalent teams.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Service Technicians, Facilities Technicians, and Housekeepers.
• Oversee and perform hands‑on maintenance to maintain property value.
• Perform regular inspections and diagnose repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, and appliances.
• Manage Make-Ready and Turn Board, and inventories to support leasing.
• Schedule contractors and vendors as needed; ensure safety hazards are addressed.
• Share on‑call duties and respond after hours in uniform/badge.
• Complete weekly service reports and uphold safety protocols.
• Train and mentor team members; maintain records of maintenance and inspections.
• Maintain strong resident and team relationships; oversee capital projects.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $35.00/hour.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications.***

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
• One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, OSHA or similar).
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Three or more years' experience working as a Maintenance Technician, Apartment Turn Technician, Service Technician, Make-Ready Technician, or Work Order Technician.
• 1 year working as a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, Building Engineer or similar.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will:

• Serve as the leader for the team of Service Technicians, Facilities Technicians, and Housekeepers.
• Oversee and execute the hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community.
• Perform consistent inspections, diagnosing problems, and making necessary repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, flooring, carpentry, dry walling, appliances, and exterior structures.
• Manage the daily inventory of apartment homes in order to support leasing efforts, including managing the Make-Ready, Turn Board.
• Schedule contractors and vendors as needed.
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazards.
• Share rotating on-call duty with service team members and readily available to go the property after hours if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Complete Weekly Service Report in a timely manner.
• Adhere to Mark-Taylor safety protocols, programs, policies and procedures.
• Participate in training classes.
• Train and mentor Service Technician and Facilities Technicians.
• Keep accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, work orders, inspections, inventories, pool chemical logs, make-ready and turn units.
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive rapport with all residents and team members.
• Capital project oversight, bidding, and execution.
