Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical tasks across the community. You will diagnose issues, complete routine upkeep, and lead the make-ready process for vacant units, ensuring quality workmanship and safety standards are upheld.

You will also help maintain grounds and exterior areas, inspect work, manage tools and supplies, and support budget-conscious maintenance strategies. A valid driver's license and EPA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade.
• Incumbents must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by State law and must be skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication to interact with residents, team members, and other contacts.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to represent company management and respond to questions.
• Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs; Property management system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills for working with numbers and documents.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair issues in community buildings, grounds, and amenities per established policies.
• Complete make-ready process for vacant units including inspections and scheduling vendors.
• Set and maintain standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds and interiors.
• Periodically inspect work by staff and contractors to ensure quality and safety.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and assist with budget planning for repairs and capital projects.
• Contribute to safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA and safety requirements.
