Combined Selection Group Ltd partners with a leading RTE protein manufacturer to hire an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead a high-volume plant’s maintenance team, drive equipment reliability, and minimize downtime while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will collaborate with Production, Engineering, FSQA and Sanitation, manage preventive/predictive maintenance programs, supervise technicians, and oversee spare parts and CMMS records to improve plant performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the maintenance team, providing direction during daily operations.
  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate rapid restoration with Production.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs such as PM compliance, downtime, MTBF, MTTR and costs.
  • Identify recurring failures and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automated systems.
  • Ensure maintenance activities meet safety and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, FSQA and Sanitation to improve plant performance.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and capital projects.
  • Manage maintenance parts, tools and critical spare inventory and CMMS records.
  • Train and develop technicians, assist with recruitment and succession planning.

Job description

We are partnering with a leading RTE protein manufacturer that is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their growing operations team. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the maintenance function across a high-volume production facility. The successful candidate will lead a team of maintenance technicians, drive equipment reliability, minimize unplanned downtime and ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance leader who enjoys working closely with Production, Engineering and Operations to continuously improve plant performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise and develop the maintenance team, providing direction and support throughout daily operations.
  • Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and work closely with Production to restore equipment and minimize disruption.
  • Monitor key maintenance KPIs including PM compliance, downtime, MTBF, MTTR and maintenance costs .
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automated systems.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Partner closely with Production, Engineering, FSQA and Sanitation to improve overall plant performance.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, modifications and capital improvement projects.
  • Manage maintenance parts, tools and critical spare inventory.
  • Ensure accurate completion of work orders and maintenance records through the plant CMMS.
  • Train, coach and develop maintenance technicians to build a strong, accountable team.
  • Assist with recruitment, performance management and succession planning within the maintenance department.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, GMP, food safety and company standards .
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, safety and cost reduction.
  • Participate in scheduled plant shutdowns and major maintenance projects as required.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Lead or Senior Maintenance Technician with experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. We are particularly interested in individuals who have:

  • Previous leadership experience within RTE protein, meat, poultry, food or other high-volume manufacturing .
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience leading and developing maintenance technicians.
  • A proven track record of improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime.
  • Experience managing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Strong understanding of industrial production and packaging equipment.
  • The ability to work effectively alongside Production and Operations leadership.
  • A hands-on, floor-focused leadership style.
  • Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience within RTE, further-processed protein or food manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, conveyors, packaging equipment and automated production systems.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms and maintenance KPI reporting.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, GMP and food safety requirements.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Technical degree, engineering qualification or relevant trade certification is advantageous.
