Required Qualifications:Per Civil Service Standards and Specifications. One year of experience as a skilled tradesperson in the Electrical trade subsequent to the completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience. Candidate must be able to perform the physical tasks of the position such as bending, lifting, stretching and climbing. Must have the ability to work in confined spaces and from a ladder, scaffolding or man lift over ten feet in height. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver’s License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. Preferred Qualifications: 10 years of trade’s experience in Electrical field. Experience supervising staff. Strong computer skills including MS word, Excel, experience with CMMS (Infor – work order system). Experience with email communications.
Brief Description of Duties: The Maintenance Supervisor 1 is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities for the Electrical shop. This position is a working supervisor position, where you plan and lay out work, assign staff, provide instruction and assistance and inspect the work. The Maintenance Supervisor will need to have knowledge of OSHA, PESH, and safety Regulations. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following.
Special Notes: This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference. SG 14 Hiring Rate $59,049. This position includes location pay of $4,150 per year.
The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.

Seniority for promotion is the length of service in the Operational Services Bargaining Unit. Seniority applies to vacant non-competitive class positions in salary grades higher than the applicants grade.
