Job summary

Charter - Winston-Salem is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee equipment and facility maintenance, drive preventative maintenance programs and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues. You will lead a team, manage CMMS, and coordinate with multiple departments to minimize downtime.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervisory maintenance experience, a High School Diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• PLC programming training preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability.
• ISO/FDA experience preferred.
• OSHA knowledge preferred.

Description

What we are looking for:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining company equipment and facilities. Technicians will maintain the equipment and facility through preventative maintenance (PM), root cause analysis, utilization of both internal and external resources, and follow through. The incumbent will troubleshoot, test, and diagnose electrical and mechanical equipment and malfunctioning machinery.

What you will do:

• Provides full maintenance support for company equipment, processes, and facility at all times.
• Works with all departments to maintain a collaborative relationship to ensure planning, scheduling, and completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Communicates openly and is transparent with progress of work, projects, improvements, resource needs and activities to ensure alignment with all departments.
• Responsible for the selection, supervision and development of maintenance personnel.
• Manages the CMMS system to include:
• Ensures all work is properly documented into the CMMS in a timely manner. Manages resource allocation to minimize workorder backlog.
• Seeks methods to minimize downtime by developing robust maintenance practices and procedures such as Preventative Maintenance.
• Manages work orders, ensures proper priorities are established, and assignments are appropriately distributed to staff or contractors.
• Updates user information access levels.
• Manages contractors performing maintenance work. Ensures contractor work meets contractual scopes of work. Responsible for contractor compliance to company policies and procedures.
• Uses building automation system and other computer-based tools to trend, troubleshoot and assist in the uptime of critical systems.
• Collaborates with management, engineering, operations, and quality management personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve facilities, operations, conditions of machines and equipment.
• Works within budget and efficiently utilizes organizational resources.
• Ensures Maintenance Department’s compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Identifies staffing requirements, participates in the selection and hiring process; interviews applicants and makes hire recommendations.
• Provides coaching, feedback and guidance to team members on a continual basis and takes an active role in developing, monitoring and updating a career plan for advancement.
• Completes performance appraisals and reviews with employees; recommends salary increases to management and HR.
• Provides input to the department budgeting process and monitors and controls expenses through the year to meet budget requirements.

Who you are:

• High School Diploma required.
• Prior experience (3-5 years minimum) leading a Maintenance group.
• PLC Programming training and practical experience preferred.
• Demonstrated Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting capability
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to teach and develop Maintenance team members
• Prior experience in ISO/FDA regulated environment preferred.
• OSHA knowledge preferred.
• Must be able to work extended hours when required
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
