Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor at the West Chicago site to oversee the Technology Center (DTC) and manage maintenance of equipment, safety, and facilities.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, strong leadership, CMMS experience (Fiix/Prism), budgeting acumen, and the ability to coordinate with HR, COS, vendors, and security.

Responsibilities

OWENS CORNING is currently seeking a Maintenanance Supervisor at our West Chicago site. The successful candidate will oversee the company's Technology center (DTC) including but not limited to supervising the maintenance of equipments, safety of F&M Operations, supervising ongoing janitorial duties, facility contractor relations, building security, office supplies, and co-manage office layout with HR. The ideal candidate will also have training and be certified in order to inspect, maintain and repair possible mechanical, electrical, plumbing or HVAC system issues should they arise.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Supervise maintenance and facilities team in DTC

  • Manage facilities contractors to ensure timely, cost effective and safe work.
  • Support annual and quarterly budgeting, budget management and facility costs
  • Strong financial acumen for budgeting; can analyze data for decision-making purposes
  • Maintain all aspects of facilities equipment at the MIC and maximize its useful life and minimize the necessity for repairs
  • Ensure proper repair of any mechanical, electrical or structural maintenance (including but not limited to plumbing, drywall, appliances, woodwork, electrical, etc.)
  • Document manage budget and inform management of any emergency and/or routine maintenance required
  • Develop and administer maintenance policies and procedures in conjunction with HR and COS
  • Manage vendor service needs of the location
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the property by obtaining the best prices for all supplies and services
  • Execute equipment audits, warranty services and record-taking policies
  • Review invoices for appropriate coding and ensure all are within agreed to pricing
  • Manage day to day vendors and services such as water, plants, shredding, multiple mail providers, janitorial staff, City of West Chicago trash/recycle, etc.
  • Schedule and perform annual inspections, warranty services and scheduled maintenance of all equipment based on manufacturer's recommendation and operating manuals; Coordinate system repairs and monitor system performance
  • Develop annual budget; maintain and review expenditures on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure proper focus on improving conditions of assets
  • Manage annual operations budget
  • Make annual recommendations for capital upgrades to maintain pristine office environment; execute capital project upgrades when approved
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc.
  • Maximize the interior and exterior appearance of the property within budget guidelines

Provide day to day support for office management including:

  • Oversee and supervise team of facilities attendant
  • Support visitor on site by setting up facilities for tour, conference, townhalls, etc.
  • Ensure timely distribution of mail
  • Implement and monitor security procedures for the campus; ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols
  • Schedule and facilitate routine fire drills with EHS leader
  • Work in conjunction with insurance department to review any damage claims; recommend and implement plans or programs to improve safety of operations to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of similar claims
  • Ensure local compliance with all OWENS CORNING / OSHA required policy and procedures
  • Monitor building security system and after-hours protocol
  • Manage extreme weather alerts and communication

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related discipline; will consider equivalent experience/education combinations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (Team Management, Delegation and Training, Conflict Resolution)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Maintenance and Facilities management or Maintenance engg position · Experience designing and executing PM Schedule
  • CMMS Proficiency (Fiix or Prism)
  • Vendor and Contract Management
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC systems
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose system failures rapidly and guide technician on difficult repairs
  • Able to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systems
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Certified Facilities Manager
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional

The base salary range for this position is $66,000 to $79,200, with the potential for up to an additional 10% if the applicant hired has additional related qualifications.
