Our Client, an Agriculture Products company, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for their Waterloo, IA location.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain effective communication, feedback, and guidance within the team.
- Ensure personnel have proper training, work instructions, and tools.
- Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship issues, and supervise production to meet quality standards.
- Administer employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules.
- Monitor performance, implement corrective actions, and respond to employee or process complaints.
- Prioritize manufacturing and distribution tasks based on the production schedule, assign daily tasks, and manage overtime to meet delivery deadlines.
- Plan maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and asset utilization.
- Monitor departmental budgets and implement cost control measures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Implement and oversee safety and housekeeping programs.
- Oversee skilled trades employees maintaining foundry equipment during off-shift hours.
- Lead safety, environmental, and ergonomic initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Supervise preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs and improvements with engineering.
- Provide training and resources to maintenance personnel.
- Promote safety engagement and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
- Manage overtime requirements based on production needs.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and leadership.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in SAP Plant Maintenance for scheduling and procurement.
- At least 2 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance (hydraulics, cylinders, motors, heavy industry).
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems.
- Effective planning skills and adaptability.
- Knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and team-oriented problem-solving ability.
- Experience with RS Logix for machine troubleshooting.
- Understanding of 480V Power Distribution.
- Minimum of 5 years of foundry maintenance experience.
- At least 5 years of maintenance supervision experience.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Ability to manage change and drive improvements.
- Familiarity with wage and union policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience in a foundry environment.
- Preference for candidates with hydraulics, motors, heavy industry, and foundry maintenance experience, especially in unionized settings.
