Job description

Our Client, an Agriculture Products company, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for their Waterloo, IA location.

Responsibilities:
  1. Establish and maintain effective communication, feedback, and guidance within the team.
  2. Ensure personnel have proper training, work instructions, and tools.
  3. Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship issues, and supervise production to meet quality standards.
  4. Administer employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules.
  5. Monitor performance, implement corrective actions, and respond to employee or process complaints.
  6. Prioritize manufacturing and distribution tasks based on the production schedule, assign daily tasks, and manage overtime to meet delivery deadlines.
  7. Plan maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and asset utilization.
  8. Monitor departmental budgets and implement cost control measures.
  9. Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  10. Implement and oversee safety and housekeeping programs.
  11. Oversee skilled trades employees maintaining foundry equipment during off-shift hours.
  12. Lead safety, environmental, and ergonomic initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  13. Supervise preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs and improvements with engineering.
  14. Provide training and resources to maintenance personnel.
  15. Promote safety engagement and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
  16. Manage overtime requirements based on production needs.
  17. Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and leadership.
Requirements:
  1. Proficiency in SAP Plant Maintenance for scheduling and procurement.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance (hydraulics, cylinders, motors, heavy industry).
  3. Strong troubleshooting skills in hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems.
  4. Effective planning skills and adaptability.
  5. Knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 regulations.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  7. Excellent communication skills and team-oriented problem-solving ability.
  8. Experience with RS Logix for machine troubleshooting.
  9. Understanding of 480V Power Distribution.
  10. Minimum of 5 years of foundry maintenance experience.
  11. At least 5 years of maintenance supervision experience.
  12. Proven leadership skills.
  13. Ability to manage change and drive improvements.
  14. Familiarity with wage and union policies.
  15. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience in a foundry environment.
  16. Preference for candidates with hydraulics, motors, heavy industry, and foundry maintenance experience, especially in unionized settings.
