Job summary

Global, a 1st Flagship Company, is seeking an experienced Supervisor for Norfolk, VA, with duties including supervising shipboard hot work and repairs at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Employment is contingent on contract award and government approval.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory experience on Navy ships, US citizenship, and an active DoD Secret clearance. This is a hands-on, on-site position with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related trade/industrial schooling.
• US citizenship with active DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of laborers during shipboard hot work and related repairs.
• Assign watch personnel, monitor performance and ensure safety coverage.
• Enforce NAVSEA standards and OSHA safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-task briefings and job hazard analyses for watch teams.
• Ensure training and readiness for fire or confined space emergencies.
• Maintain logs and safety documentation including permits.
• Coordinate with project manager to meet schedules and resolve issues.
• Report unsafe conditions and take corrective actions as required.

We are seeking a highly motivated Supervisors for a potential projects in Norfolk, VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals.

Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supervise day-to-day activities of skilled and unskilled laborers/personnel during shipboard hot work, confined space entry, and related repair efforts.
• Assign watch personnel to specific jobs, monitor performance, and ensure proper coverage per contract and safety requirements.
• Enforce compliance with NAVSEA Standard Items, OSHA safety regulations, and company policies related to hot work and confined space safety.
• Conduct pre-task briefings and job hazard analyses for assigned watch teams.
• Ensure all personnel are properly trained, equipped, and prepared to respond to fire-related or confined space emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records, including watch logs, fire safety documentation, and confined space entry permits.
• Coordinate with program/project manager to meet operational schedules and resolve any issues.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or non-compliance immediately and take corrective actions as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a supervisor in repair and maintenance efforts onboard U.S. Navy ships
• High school diploma and/or successful completion of a related trade or industrial school
• US Citizenship and an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
