Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Maintenance Department and its employees, ensuring repair and upkeep of all production and plant equipment as well as maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and establishes safety procedures for maintenance work, including lock‑out/tag‑out, confined spaces, and arc‑flash programs that meet EHS, OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and company standards.
- Assists in scheduling repairs and improvements of production and non‑production equipment by technicians and contractors to minimise planned and unplanned outages.
- Manages department personnel, including performance evaluations, recognition, discipline, training, payroll approval, and selection; recommends and initiates employee training plans.
- Co‑ordinates with all applicable parties to secure sufficient utility resources, manage environmental and hazardous waste removal, and oversee security, fire, and emergency systems.
- Recommends and implements preventative maintenance programmes and improvement modifications for plant equipment and facilities; maintains accurate records and reports on projects and equipment.
- Compiles operational and personnel data—time, production, inventory, repair and maintenance statistics, test results—to support data‑driven decisions.
- Directs maintenance technicians to achieve a high level of performance.
- Organises and manages daily maintenance procedures for repair and overhaul of all plant equipment.
- Provides technical advice on equipment modifications and estimates maintenance project timelines; ensures that required materials, parts, tools, equipment and manpower are available.
- Assists with layout, installation, movement and dismantling of plant equipment and development of project scopes.
- Directs contracted service providers as needed.

- Working knowledge of electricity (A.C. and D.C.), electronics, power distribution and circuitry protection.
What We Want From You
- A four‑year bachelor of engineering degree is recommended.
- Five to seven years of in‑plant exposure to mechanical or electrical maintenance responsibilities.
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
