Job Summary
Lead the maintenance team in day‑to‑day activities under the direction of the Maintenance Manager or Coordinator. This is a working lead position responsible for supporting production through effective equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and apply Safety, Quality, and Productivity priorities.
- Exemplify the responsibilities of a Frontline Leader.
- Support and investigate situations where line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived or imminent safety risk.
- Complete responsibilities according to organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Lead risk assessment activities by driving corrective and preventive actions to eliminate or reduce environmental, health, or safety risks.
- Assist and/or lead required safety meetings (Pre‑shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.) in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Assist the Supervisor in completing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions in a timely and thorough manner.
- Ensure proper training and development of all assigned employees.
- Set daily objectives for the organizational unit, achieve them, and ensure all employees understand and work toward objectives.
- Motivate and coach employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.
- Identify and coordinate additional training as needed.
- Serve on an on‑call rotation to assist with extended breakdowns, advanced troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Be willing to work overtime with minimal notification.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years’ experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
- Industrial Maintenance Certification preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong mechanical skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic fabrication.
- Advanced electrical troubleshooting and repair skills; ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of PLC system functionality and ladder logic troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of DC drive and Variable Frequency Drive technology, troubleshooting and repair.
- Working knowledge of process water systems (chillers, cooling towers) and compressed air systems (compressors, dryers).
- Strong communication skills, able to listen well and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, employees, and vendors.
- Ability to establish, delegate, and follow up on tasks; attentive to detail with an eye for quality of work.
- Self‑motivated with initiative to meet departmental needs without instruction; positive attitude and willingness to adapt.
