Job summary

Aegis Worldwide seeks a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor for sawmill operations in Alabama. You will lead maintenance technicians, drive preventive maintenance programs, and improve equipment reliability on a high-volume line.

You will troubleshoot complex machinery and guide safety-focused maintenance practices on the plant floor. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of maintenance leadership in wood products or heavy industry, strong communication, and CMMS proficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in sawmill or heavy industrial environments.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience on plant equipment.
• Experience supervising maintenance teams and contractors.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of reliability improvement and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Technical degree or related training preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Maintenance Supervisor - Sawmill Operations

Overview

WILL RELOCATE FOR THIS POSITION

This role is On-site and in Alabama.

Our client, a well-established wood products manufacturer in the southeastern United States, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations within a high-volume sawmill environment. This position will oversee maintenance personnel, drive preventive maintenance initiatives, improve equipment reliability, and support safe, efficient production operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance leader who enjoys being on the plant floor, troubleshooting equipment, coaching technicians, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
• Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs using a CMMS.
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

• Welding, fabrication, and machine alignment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a sawmill, lumber manufacturing, wood products, or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Experience supervising maintenance teams and contractors.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of reliability improvement and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
