Job summary

AvantStay in Truckee, CA seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead on-site upkeep of residential and boutique hotel properties. You’ll troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliances, and general systems, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate with vendors as needed.

You’ll document work orders and stay hands-on for the majority of tasks. You must bring 3–5 years of property maintenance experience, own tools, and availability for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in property management, hotel, or apartment complex maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, pool, HVAC, and landscaping work.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work on weekends/holidays.
• Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Area Manager to resolve maintenance issues in our properties
• Perform maintenance such as repairing furniture, unclogging drains, painting, and replacing broken items
• Prioritize and proactively resolve maintenance issues before guest arrival and during stays
• 80% of time spent on hands-on maintenance
• 20% of time supporting local managers with 3rd party vendors
• Assist in obtaining quotes for maintenance work assigned to 3rd party vendors
• Document all maintenance and billing details in the task management system
• Maintain organization/storage of supplies and tools
• Assist onboarding of new properties with general maintenance and basic security installs
• Move heavy objects and stay on your feet for prolonged periods

What we are looking For

AvantStay is looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor. As the go-to person for maintenance on our team, you'll help troubleshoot basic to intermediate issues at our properties - both short-term rental residential & boutique hotels, fix inadequate parts of units to make them functional, and conduct general home improvement tasks.

The Maintenance Supervisor will perform scheduled maintenance as directed as well as diagnose problems and repairs on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, dry wall, appliances etc. This position will schedule, monitor, and perform maintenance, and respond to work order requests from the team.

The Maintenance Supervisor will inspect properties and the grounds for safety and cleanliness, and occasionally recommend and work with outside contractors as needed.

What you'll do

• Assist in obtaining quotes of maintenance work assigned to 3rd party vendors
• Thoroughly document all maintenance and billing details in our task management system
• Maintain organization and upkeep of supplies in storage such as tools, furniture, and heating & cooling items
• Assist in the onboarding of new properties, performing general maintenance/touchups, and installing basic security components (doorbells, cameras, etc.)
• Move heavy objects and be on your feet for prolonged periods of time

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in property management, hotel, or apartment complex maintenance
• Deep understanding of all property upkeep tasks and knowledge of electrical, plumbing, pool, HVAC and landscaping work
• Tech savviness to troubleshoot technology issues and comfort navigating apps to document work
• Ability to lift heavy objects
• Ability to be self-sufficient and independently complete jobs
• Must provide your own tools
• Must have the ability and availability to work weekends, holidays, and with an overall flexible work schedule to fit current business needs
