Job description

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of maintenance workers to ensure production equipment, machinery, and facilities operate reliably and safely.
  • Monitor workers responsible for the maintenance of production equipment and related systems.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective fixes.
  • Oversee maintenance of injection molding, blow molding, and packaging equipment.
  • Manage the maintenance department and approve preventative maintenance documents.
  • Schedule and manage preventative maintenance activities and maintain a proper stock of parts.
  • Supervise outside contractors performing installations and projects at the facility.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Hire, train, coach, and review performance of maintenance employees.
  • Collaborate with HR on employee discipline, terminations, and recruitment.
  • Oversee safety team activities and enforce safety requirements.
  • Build a positive work environment and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase shop, department, or crew efficiency.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving those problems.
  • Maintain time and maintenance records.
  • Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: 4 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum: 4 years of experience in a maintenance position.
  • Minimum: 4 years of experience managing people or projects (experience may include a combination of work experience and education).
  • Required ability to lift items up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
  • Preferred: 6 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
