Job Description

This role oversees advanced electrical and mechanical maintenance in a mid-size fiberglass manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Supervisor leads hands-on troubleshooting and repair of complex industrial equipment, with a strong focus on PLC-controlled systems, control panels, and automation components, while also providing guidance and supervision to the maintenance team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise daily maintenance activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely completion of all work.

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment, including diagnosing issues with I/O modules, limit switches, VFDs, sensors, motors, relays, and related components.

  • Work inside control panels to identify faults, trace wires, replace components, and restore equipment to proper operation.

  • Use HMIs for diagnostics and troubleshooting, interpreting error codes and system feedback to identify root causes of equipment issues.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic to diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including conveyors, chains, bearings, sprockets, cylinders, and valves.

  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting on three-phase motors, fuses, relays, and control circuits to minimize downtime.

  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to support reliability and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and support new equipment or line build-outs.

  • Support the installation, commissioning, and optimization of proprietary in-house equipment and new production lines.

  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and adherence to all safety policies.

  • Provide hands‑on training, guidance, and support to maintenance technicians to help them develop a wide range of technical skills.

  • Assist with overtime and weekend work as needed to support production demands and facility projects.

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including reading and interpreting schematics and ladder logic.

  • Hands‑on experience with preventive maintenance, repair, and maintenance of industrial electrical systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair automation equipment using HMIs and control system diagnostics.

  • Capability to perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance tasks safely and effectively.

  • Strong teamwork orientation and willingness to assist with whatever tasks are necessary to keep operations running.

  • Reliability and consistency in work history, demonstrating commitment and follow-through.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience troubleshooting by reading and interpreting ladder logic in PLC programs.

  • Background in automation maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Experience with Omron or similar PLC platforms is a plus.

  • Familiarity with proprietary or custom-built production equipment.

  • Ability to identify opportunities for creative solutions and continuous improvement in equipment reliability and performance.

  • Comfort working overtime and occasional weekends as production needs require.

Why Work Here?

The organization offers a stable, family-oriented environment with significant room for growth and professional development. Team members receive extensive hands‑on training and the opportunity to build a broad skill set across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Because the equipment is proprietary and built in house, employees gain unique, in-depth knowledge of specialized machinery and have the chance to contribute creative solutions that directly impact operations. The culture values teamwork, initiative, and long-term development, providing a strong platform for motivated individuals to advance their careers.

Work Environment

The role is based in a non-climate controlled manufacturing facility that is actively investing in renovations and expanding production with additional lines. The environment involves working around fiberglass manufacturing processes and proprietary in-house equipment. The position follows a day shift schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with weekends and additional hours as needed to support production and project demands. The work is hands‑on and performed on the production floor, requiring comfort with industrial equipment, tools, and machinery in an active manufacturing setting.
