GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our maintenance department and supervise a team responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of our diesel and alternative-fuel fleet.

You will schedule repairs using the M5 Planner, track parts, and ensure all work complies with safety and regulatory standards. The role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced shop environment and a commitment to uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of heavy diesel truck maintenance experience.
  • 1+ year in a leadership or lead tech role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for scheduling and budgeting.
  • You can lift 50 lbs and work in a shop environment.

Job description

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of a maintenance department and the supervision of a team responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of fleet. Ensure all repairs and/or maintenance to equipment (diesel fleet, alternate fuel, containers, and other heavy-duty equipment) is performed in accordance with Company safety and compliance standards, and with all federal/state regulations.

  • Command the Shop: Oversee the daily hustle of our maintenance department. You’re the conductor of this diesel-powered orchestra!

  • Coach & Mentor: You aren’t just a boss; you’re a pro trainer. Lead, inspire, and develop a team of skilled technicians to be the best in the business.

  • The Tech Wizard: Use the M5 Planner to schedule repairs, track parts, and ensure our fleet—from heavy-duty trucks to alternative fuel vehicles is in peak condition.

  • Safety First, Always: Ensure every bolt is tight and every repair meets our gold-standard safety and federal/state regulations.

  • Problem Solver: Dive into complex diagnostics and lead the way on advanced preventive maintenance.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of heavy diesel truck maintenance and 1+ year in a leadership or lead tech role.

  • Knowledge: You know your way around engines, emissions, hydraulics, and air brakes like the back of your hand.

  • Skills: You’re a pro with Microsoft Office and can juggle schedules and budgets without breaking a sweat.

  • Grit: You’re ready to lift 50 lbs, work in the shop environment, and lead from the front.
