GFL Environmental Inc. in North Carolina seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of skilled mechanics, keep a high-energy shop on track, and ensure community fleets are green, safe, and moving.

You will manage preventive maintenance, complex diagnostics, and safety protocols, while coordinating parts, work orders, and repair priorities with fleet management. CDL is a plus and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supervising or leading a team in a heavy-duty diesel, fleet, or mechanical maintenance environment.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment repairs.
• Outstanding organization and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize urgent repairs on the fly.
• Ability to effectively bridge the gap between shop mechanics, operations drivers, and management teams.
• CDL preferred or willingness to obtain one with support.

What You’ll Be Doing (The Core Role)

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Leadership: 3+ years of experience supervising or leading a team in a heavy-duty diesel, fleet, or mechanical maintenance environment.

• Technical Mastery: Deep hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment repairs.

• Problem-Solver Mindset: Outstanding organization and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize urgent repairs on the fly.

• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively bridge the gap between shop mechanics, operations drivers, and management teams.

• CDL Preferred: A valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License is a huge plus (or the willingness to obtain one with our support).
