CJ Schwan’s in Sioux Falls, SD, is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor on the day shift to lead a high‑performing maintenance team at our new Asian‑style facility. You’ll oversee reactive, preventive, and scheduled maintenance and drive asset optimization.

The role requires 5+ years maintenance experience with 2+ years in leadership, strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical systems, SAP, safety, USDA standards. We offer a competitive salary and a 10% incentive bonus, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience, including 2+ years of maintenance leadership.
• Knowledge of general construction, electrical systems, electronic systems, microprocessors, mechanical systems (production/process, refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Working knowledge of food plant production equipment; familiarity with SAP and safety/USDA sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversees reactive, corrective, planned and condition-based maintenance in coordination with Maintenance Planner/Scheduler.
• Guides shop safety, 5S and use of shop tools to improve workspace organization and efficiency.
• Leads weekly maintenance KPI tracking and reporting (PM/Corrective, backlog, WO aging, MTTR, etc.).
• Drives root-cause analysis for breakdowns and reliability improvements.
• Contributes to equipment maintenance strategy improvements using team input and defect trends.

We are hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and develop a high‑performing maintenance team at our ethnic frozen food plant in Sioux Falls, SD. In this role, you’ll guide all reactive, corrective, and preventive maintenance activities and help advance our Asset Optimization initiatives, with a focus on Planning & Scheduling, Defect Elimination, and Breakdown Elimination.

What You Will Do

• Improves organization and effectiveness of physical workspaces through Shop Tools and Facilities system (Shop safety, 5S, precision tools, etc.)
• Supervises daily work assignments including reactive, corrective, planned and condition-based maintenance in coordination with Maintenance Planner/Scheduler. Prioritizes and assigns resources based on shifting production and schedule demands.
• Actively participates in the site DMS meetings with reporting ownership for maintenance metrics.
• Weekly tracking and reporting of maintenance KPI’s for team: PM and Corrective Completion, Backlog, WO aging, Mean Time to Complete, Breakdowns, Defects, etc.
• Provides leadership in troubleshooting and problem-solving breakdowns and reliability losses with cross-functional team. Drives failures to root cause using Breakdown Elimination processes.
• Participates in equipment maintenance strategy improvement using inputs from maintenance team, breakdown elimination findings, defect trends, and equipment condition monitoring.
  
  

What We Look For

• High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, including 2+ years of maintenance leadership.
• Must have knowledge and skills in the technologies of general construction, electrical systems, electronic systems, microprocessors, mechanical systems (e.g., production/process, refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, hydraulics, and pneumatics), and computerized maintenance management systems.
• Working knowledge of food plant production and processing equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP, occupational hazards, safety, EPA regulations, USDA and sanitation standards preferred.
• Must have previous supervisor experience.

The base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $113,000 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
