Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a high-performing maintenance team at our Sioux Falls, SD plant. You will oversee reactive, planned, and preventive maintenance, guiding activities to support asset optimization and on-time production.

You will drive root-cause analysis, coordinate with a multi-functional team, and focus on scheduling, breakdown elimination, and continuous improvement to sustain reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, including 2+ years in leadership.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and process equipment in a food plant.
• Experience with SAP or CMMS and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Improves organization and effectiveness of workspaces and implements shop tools and safety standards.
• Supervises daily maintenance activities including reactive, planned and condition-based work; allocates resources per production needs.
• Participates in site meetings and reports maintenance KPIs including PM, backlog and breakdown data.
• Leads troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to minimize reliability losses.
• Contributes to maintenance strategy improvements based on data and trend analysis.
• Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation and regulatory standards.

We are hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team at our ethnic frozen food plant in Sioux Falls, SD. In this role, you'll guide all reactive, corrective, and preventive maintenance activities and help advance our Asset Optimization initiatives, with a focus on Planning & Scheduling, Defect Elimination, and Breakdown Elimination.

What you will do:

• Improves organization and effectiveness of physical workspaces through Shop Tools and Facilities system (Shop safety, 5S, precision tools, etc.)

• Supervises daily work assignments including reactive, corrective, planned and condition-based maintenance in coordination with Maintenance Planner/Scheduler. Prioritizes and assigns resources based on shifting production and schedule demands.

• Actively participates in the site DMS meetings with reporting ownership for maintenance metrics.

• Weekly tracking and reporting of maintenance KPI's for team: PM and Corrective Completion, Backlog, WO aging, Mean Time to Complete, Breakdowns, Defects, etc.

• Provides leadership in troubleshooting and problem-solving breakdowns and reliability losses with cross-functional team. Drives failures to root cause using Breakdown Elimination processes.

• Participates in equipment maintenance strategy improvement using inputs from maintenance team, breakdown elimination findings, defect trends, and equipment condition monitoring.

What we look for:

• High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, including 2+ years of maintenance leadership.

• Must have knowledge and skills in the technologies of general construction, electrical systems, electronic systems, microprocessors, mechanical systems (e.g., production/process, refrigeration, boilers, HVAC, hydraulics, and pneumatics), and computerized maintenance management systems.

• Working knowledge of food plant production and processing equipment preferred.

• Knowledge of SAP, occupational hazards, safety, EPA regulations, USDA and sanitation standards preferred.

• Must have previous supervisor experience.

What We Offer:

The base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $113,000 annually, with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
