Job summary

Estancia Del Norte in San Antonio is seeking an Engineering/Maintenance Supervisor to support maintenance operations, ensuring facilities and systems function efficiently and safely.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems, and will assist with scheduling maintenance and responding to requests from guests and staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in hotel maintenance or a similar environment.

Job description

Job Title: Engineering/Maintenance Supervisor
Department: Engineering/Maintenance
Supervisor: Chief Engineer, Director of Maintenance, and/or General Manager
Summary

The Engineering/Maintenance Supervisor supports the Chief Engineer in managing the hotel’s maintenance operations to ensure all facilities, equipment, and systems are functioning efficiently and safely. This role involves assisting with scheduling preventive maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with other departments to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in planning and executing maintenance activities.
  • Perform routine inspections of hotel facilities and equipment.
  • Schedule and carry out preventive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment status.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building codes.
  • Monitor inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; report shortages to the Chief Engineer.
  • Support energy conservation and cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Assist with training and supporting maintenance staff to ensure proper procedures and standards are followed consistently.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversee, guide, and train all Maintenance employees and report any achievements and/or deficiencies to the Chief Engineer. No discipline or management responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
