Job summary

Apple Rehab Rocky Hill is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the facility's physical plant. This part-time role (24 hours) involves plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds keeping tasks with a valid driver's license. You will join a friendly, long-tenured team dedicated to residents' comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates have experience in hospital/long-term care settings and bring a positive, team-focused attitude. Opportunities for growth exist within a family-owned community.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
• Ability to perform routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and grounds keeping tasks including painting, wallpapering, and snow removal.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with others.
• Patient and positive attitude toward residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the facility's physical plant and its systems (plumbing, electrical, structural, equipment).
• Safely operate equipment, power and hand tools to complete maintenance tasks.
• Inform facility personnel of potential shutdowns and coordinate contingency plans.
• Plan efficient use of time to complete tasks promptly.
• Cooperate with staff to minimize disruption to operations.
• Inspect the facility regularly and report needed repairs.

Job Description:

Are you a skilled individual with a knack for fixing things? Do you thrive in an environment where you can apply your expertise in maintaining and repairing various systems? We are currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our facility.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair the facility's physical plant and its various systems, including plumbing, electrical, structural, and equipment.

• Safely operate equipment, power, and hand tools to carry out maintenance tasks effectively.

• Advise appropriate facility personnel of any potential shut-downs, enabling the staff to provide alternate plans for the continuation of operations.

• Plan efficient use of time to complete tasks promptly and effectively.

• Cooperate with all other staff members to minimize disruption to the facility's operations.

• Inspect the facility regularly and report any needed repairs promptly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred.

• Ability to perform, and working knowledge of, routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and grounds keeping tasks including painting, wallpapering, and shoveling snow.

• Valid drivers’ license and safe driving record.

• The Maintenance Assistant demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team.

• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the residents and their support networks.
