Job summary

People Incorporated in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations for affordable housing communities. This full-time role combines hands-on trade work with supervisory responsibilities to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee technicians across sites, coordinate preventive maintenance, manage vendors, and support capital projects. The position offers a stable, mission-driven environment and opportunities to influence property

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, repairs, and grounds upkeep.
• Leadership experience supervising maintenance staff.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry or related trades.
• Willingness to travel between properties.

Responsibilities

• Directly provide maintenance services for a new affordable housing property in Richmond.
• Lead and support Maintenance Technicians across multiple sites.

This position combines hands on maintenance expertise with leadership responsibilities, creating an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on the quality and safety of our communities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead & support

• Directly provide maintenance services for a new affordable housing property in Richmond.
• Lead and support Maintenance Technicians across multiple sites.

Maintain & improve

• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs.
• Assist with capital projects, vendor management, and contract oversight.
• Conduct property inspections and identify maintenance needs.

Keep communities strong

• Help ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Support inventory management and maintenance documentation.

Deliver results

• Provide hands-on assistance when needed to keep work orders and unit turnover on schedule.
