Job summary

Transdev North America in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Maintenance Supervisor responsible for supervising maintenance and technicians, coordinating dispatch, and ensuring service standards.

The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires 5+ years in diesel/gasoline/CNG and battery-electric systems, plus 3+ years of transit supervision. DOT compliance and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in diesel/gasoline/CNG engines and zero-emissions battery electric
• CDL B+ or higher with Passenger and Air brake endorsements or ability to obtain
• 3+ years of transit supervisory experience
• Thorough knowledge of transit regulations and operations
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and relevant databases
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to organize work with strong detail orientation
• Experience working with labor, including grievances and negotiations
• Subject to DOT medical exam and DOT drug testing requirements

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily technician activities and coordinate with supervisors and dispatch
• Ensure maintenance operations meet service requirements
• Track and analyze performance; resolve interdepartmental issues and optimize routes
• Evaluate staff performance and ensure timely task completion
• Assist in incident investigations and support safety/training teams
• Coordinate with safety and training to meet safety goals
• Operate a vehicle in revenue service if required
• Perform other duties as needed

Job description

We are hiring a Maintenance Supervisor in Las Vegas, Nevada!

Maintenance Supervisor reports directly to the Maintenance Manager in fulfilling daily operations including but not limited to maintenance supervision, technician supervision, effective communication with internal and external customers and coaching employees for optimal performance, managing the entire maintenance operation in the absence of the Maintenance Manager, complying with all Company policies and managing the maintenance operation within the budgetary plan for the location.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of all technicians and coordinates the activities of supervisors and dispatch personnel.
• Works closely with the maintenance department to ensure that all operation service requirements are met.
• Track, compile and analyze performance; handle interdepartmental issues; resolve employee issues and grievances; improve processes and route scheduling.
• Evaluates the work performance of staff; ensures the timely and efficient completion of all assigned tasks.
• Assists in accident/incident investigation, including any needed on-site assistance and support to safety and training personnel.
• Coordinates with the safety and training department to ensure all safety goals and directives are met.
• May operate a vehicle in revenue service, if necessary.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required
• 5+ years experience working on diesel, gasoline, CNG engines and Zero Emissions battery electric
• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement and Air brake endorsement required or the ability to obtain one
• 3 or more years of relevant transit supervisory experience required
• Thorough knowledge of transit system regulations and operations.
• Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and relevant database programs
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details
• Ability to work effectively with labor; may include labor grievances and negotiations
• Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
