Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) seeks a Maintenance Supervisor for the Minerva, Ohio plant to lead the maintenance program, manage technicians, schedule tasks, onboard and evaluate staff, and ensure equipment reliability to meet production requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • 2 years leadership experience in maintenance.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, computer driven, pneumatic and hydraulic manufacturing systems.
  • Experience leading people and obtaining results through others, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule employees to meet production needs and manage vacation per plant policy.
  • Provide shift-to-shift communication to keep the team aligned.
  • Supervise and coach employees to achieve uptime and PM goals.
  • Monitor safety regulations and procedures compliance.
  • Maintain high 6s and housekeeping in the department.
  • Maintain knowledge of production processes and materials.
  • Collaborate with managers to ensure equipment runs and PMs are current.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production problems cost-effectively.
  • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts for all plant equipment.
  • Budget for repairs and maintenance costs; operate within the budget.
  • Manage performance reviews, discipline, and coaching of direct reports.
  • Handle hazardous waste according to policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Supervisor: Off-Shift
Position Summary:

Maintenance Supervisor will manage the implementation of the plant's existing maintenance program. This includes responsibility for identifying parts and critical spares for the plant and maintaining all equipment in a safe working condition. The maintenance supervisor will manage all the technicians including scheduling, assigning daily task/work orders, training, on-boarding, hiring, and performance evaluations. Finally, the supervisor will need to collaboration with the department managers to ensure equipment is running and PMs are current to meet production requirements.

Essential Functions:
  • Schedule employees to effectively meet production needs and ensure vacation is consistent with plant policies.
  • Provide the shift-to-shift communication link to keep all team members working toward the same goals.
  • Provide effective supervision and coaching to employees to achieve the required equipment uptime and PM goals.
  • Monitor company programs to ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure that the high standard of 6s and housekeeping is maintained in the department at all times.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and materials.
  • Work with employees to resolve technical and personnel problems.
  • Troubleshoot and provide cost effective resolutions to production problems.
  • Maintain a minimum inventory of critical spare parts for all plant equipment.
  • Cost responsibilities pertaining to repairs and other maintenance budgeting issues. Operate within the budget.
  • Responsible for performance reviews, discipline, and coaching/counseling of direct records.
  • Manage handle hazardous waste in accordance with company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Able to meet deadlines and be accountable as it relates to PM and equipment uptime.
  • Able to work flexible hours, off-shifts holidays, and weekends as needed to support production.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a customer focus approach to support Operations and safety.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a skilled maintenance team and mentor the department.
  • Proven ability to work hands-on with the team to achieve optimal equipment performance.
  • Proven experience in Manufacturing Industry with the maintenance/facilities department.
Experience & Education
