Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in North Grafton is seeking a Maintenance Manager responsible for planning and executing predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance across plant equipment, reporting to Operations Director.

You will oversee a union crew of 3 supervisors and 30 hourly staff, drive equipment availability, and manage CMMS-based programs; relocation is allowed. The role demands heavy industry experience and a bachelor’s degree or technical certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or technical certification or equivalent work experience.
  • Solid technical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Deep knowledge of heavy industry mechanical systems including hydraulics, furnaces.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in heavy manufacturing (steel, automotive or forging preferred).
  • Union shop experience preferred.
  • Experience in maintenance planning and CMMS is a plus.
  • Basic electrical maintenance skills.
  • Proficiency with data management, word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet.

  • Manages and controls the preventative maintenance program on the plant and equipment.
  • Contributes to the Company current and long-range budgetary equipment rehabilitation programs consistent with Company objectives.
  • Effectively interprets and administers the Company and bargaining unit document consistent with good management procedures.

PURPOSE

This position involves a wide variety of job conditions and off-hour responsibility for plant facilities, which are unique to the Maintenance function. The Manager of Maintenance directs the Maintenance departments to prepare and fulfill repair, construction, and preventive maintenance schedules which maximize the availability of production equipment and facilities throughout the plant and office areas.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Report to the Director of Operations for all matters relating to the predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of all plant equipment under the planner's cognizance.

REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor's degree and/or technical certification and/or equivalent work experience.

  • Through technical and mechanical knowledge.

  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of heavy industry mechanical systems including High Pressure Hydraulics, furnaces and Grit Blasting equipment.

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Heavy Manufacturing (Steel making, automotive or forging preferred)

  • Union shop experience preferred

  • Experience in maintenance planning and CMMS system a plus

  • Basic electrical maintenance skills

  • Basic computer skills: data management and analysis; word processing; spreadsheets, email and internet.



SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Very demanding position: long hours, standing, walking, stooping, and climbing; requires physical agility and dexterity.

  • Stressful work environment.

  • Plant working conditions: hazardous, dirty and subject to weather and temperature extremes.

  • Serve on an on-call basis (24/7), responding to issues and concerns.



For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $100,000 to $150,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 3X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 11 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.



Relocation is authorized for this position.
