Job summary

Qualifications

  • HAACP and GMP knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and coaching to a multi-level team across two locations.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan balancing immediate needs with long-term goals.
  • Maintain assets and facility, inventory, and department budget.
  • Develop Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and lead its execution.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Interpret specifications and assign tasks to staff.
  • Suggest improvements to production methods and equipment performance.
  • Define KPIs and strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Manage contractor/vendor relationships and service enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Processing, Quality, Warehouse, and Finance.
  • Develop SOPs and SSOPs and ensure compliance standards.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment and report issues.

Job Summary

The Plant Maintenance Managers provides leadership through strategic and operational oversight of the plant maintenance teams. This position is responsible for the successful execution of functional equipment throughout the plant, including maintaining proper preventative maintenance programs.


Essential Job Functions


  • Provide leadership and coaching to a multi-level team, including 1 direct and multiple indirect reports, across two locations to ensure strong results through effective performance management and development planning.

  • Developing and implementing a solid strategic plan while balancing its immediate needs with the long-term goals of the company.

  • Maintains manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice approvals, and manages the department budget.

  • Development of a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, and lead the team to deliver effectively.

  • Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken.

  • Interprets specifications and job orders and assigns to staff accordingly.

  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  • Define and manage key performance indicator metrics and define strategies for continuous improvement.

  • Manage contractor/vendor relationships and recommends improvements or service enhancements, and makes corrective actions to resolve issues.

  • Effective collaboration with internal partners in Processing, Quality, Warehouse and Finance across all job levels and responsibilities.

  • Develop and implement SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), SSOP’s (Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures), and any other programs and compliance standards required in the specific areas of plant maintenance.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.

  • Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.

  • Report any potential Food Safety issues to management immediately.

  • Report any damages to company vehicles, equipment, and buildings via maintenance work order software program.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.


Minimum Required Qualifications


  • · Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated operations management in manufacturing environment required, food industry preferred.

  • Bilingual preferred.

  • Valid Driver’s License required to operate between multi-site facilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor employees while taking responsibility for overall performance.

  • Experience with high-speed industrial equipment, required.

  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration system and boilers preferred.

  • Advanced understanding of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs.

  • Outstanding communication skills.

  • Strong leadership ability and customer service awareness.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision.

  • Strong understanding of HAACP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

  • Advanced personal computer skills: Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook.

  • Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.


Physical Demands


  • Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance.

  • Ability to safety ascend/descend stairs constantly.

  • Ability to work in wide range of working conditions including office, warehouse and production floors.

  • Conditions of production floor and warehouse maybe cold, wet, loud and PPE is required.
