Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor schedules, coordinates, and supervises maintenance crew members' preventive/predictive maintenance and mechanical repair activities for plant operations and capital projects, including all safety-related items. Uses independent judgment in performing duties while working from general policies, objectives, and specific standards. Refers to the superintendent/manager for clarification or interpretation of organizational policies and when unusual problems arise.

What you’ll be contributing:

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Provide technical assistance in the safe use of tools and equipment, and train employees on proper procedures, techniques, and safety precautions.
• Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities, installation of new equipment, improvements, and other projects.
• Inspect job sites before beginning maintenance to identify hazards and ensure safety.
• Operate computerized maintenance systems to prepare work orders, document activities, and maintain records.
• Assess performance and give feedback to the maintenance crew, maintaining attendance and PTO records.
• Write and modify job procedures for new and existing jobs.
• Estimate time and parts needed for projects and repairs.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure supplies are available.
• Assist in contacting vendors and contractors for maintenance needs.
• Conduct safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance.
• Participate in plant safety meetings.
• Supervise contractors for maintenance activities.
• Assist in preparing budgets for maintenance projects.
• Participate in monthly conference calls with MEP.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• Ability to read, write, and understand safety labels, instructions, and signs.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or maintenance experience in engineering or facility management.
• Proficient in English communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Effective verbal communication and listening skills.
• Project management skills demonstrated through previous work.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and read equipment manuals, drawings, and blueprints.
• Aptitude for learning new software.
• Knowledge of plant equipment, machinery, and safety regulations such as EPA and MSHA.
• Working knowledge of steel specifications, welding, conveyors, motors, hydraulic systems, fabrication, and other maintenance skills.
