Job summary

Supreme Rice, LLC in Mermentau, LA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the maintenance team responsible for electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and related systems at the mill.

You will hire and train maintenance staff, develop schedules, supervise repairs, ensure compliance with GMPs and PPE, and maintain safety standards while keeping equipment in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and oversee maintenance personnel, organize schedules, and assign work activity
• Inspect sites and perform walk-throughs regularly to identify problems and maintenance
• Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads
• Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities
• Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time
• Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site
• Conduct preventative maintenance work
• Follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work
• Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time
• Work 8-12 hours per shift, operate and maintain conveyors, elevators and bin gates in order to store rice according to varieties and grades in storage bins

Summary

Oversee and coordinate employees who install, maintain and repair electrical, plumbing, ventilation and other repair work. Evaluate problematic systems and determine what installation or repair services need to be performed. Develop and implement maintenance procedures.

Duties:

Hire, train and oversee maintenance personnel, organize schedules, and assign work activity Inspect sites and perform walk-throughs regularly to identify problems and maintenance Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities. Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work. Conduct safety inspections as scheduled. Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time.
Provide regular upkeep of property
Maintain inventory and equipment: cleaning material, safety gear, and tools. Ensure equipment is in good working order and stored properly.
Must understand and follow company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Personnel Practices.
Must understand and explain the use and requirements of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Work 8-12 hours per shift, operate and maintain conveyors, elevators and bin gates in order to store rice according to varieties and grades in storage bins.
Be willing and physically capable of performing other tasks within different departments of the mill on a temporary basis as needed.
Abide by all safety regulations and standards established by Supreme Rice.
Must report all food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Must be able to work in confined spaces. May be required to lift material weighing 50 lb.
Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
