Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant equipment and buildings to minimize contamination risk.

• Remove tools and debris after maintenance and ensure sanitation is completed.
• Report any potentially hazardous issues to the Preventive Maintenance Manager and area supervisor.

Description:

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of plant, equipment and buildings, carried out in a manner that minimizes the risk of product, packaging or equipment contamination.

Requirements:

• Must understand and follow company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Personnel Practices.
• Must understand and explain the use and requirements of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to explain the purpose of MSDS on chemicals used in the facility.
• Must understand proper use and storage of chemicals.
• Must be Forklift Certified or subject to certification training.
• Ensure facility supervisors are notified when maintenance or repairs are to be undertaken in any food handling area.
• Remove all tools and debris from any maintenance activity once it has been completed and inform the area supervisor so appropriate hygiene and sanitation can be completed.
• Inform the Preventive Maintenance Manager and the area supervisor if any repairs or maintenance pose a potential threat to product safety i.e. pieces of electrical wire, damaged light fittings, and overhead fittings.
• Notify the Preventive Maintenance Manager and the area supervisor in the event of any breakage or damage that could cause a food safety risk.
• Abide by all safety regulations and standards established by Supreme Rice.
• Must report all food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Portion of this job may require you to lift material weighing 75 lbs.
• Perform other duties directed by your Supervisor
• Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
