Job summary

HTC Global Services is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead Skilled Trades in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting. You will drive safety, quality, throughput, and cost initiatives while coaching hourly and supervisory teams on problem-solving and corrective action implementations.

Responsibilities include applying TBM/CBM/DM concepts, influencing KPIs like MTBF/MTTR, and coordinating maintenance activities with PMS support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management experience.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop Skilled Trades employees.

  • Drive waste reduction through AM, PM, QM, FI, PD.
  • Lead Kaizen projects for OEE improvements and cost deployment.

Overview / Summary

This role coordinates safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale initiatives; drives throughput improvements; and coordinates professional and breakdown maintenance activities. The Maintenance Supervisor also provides coaching and mentoring to hourly and supervisory team members on problem-solving techniques and corrective action implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct Skilled Trades employees within the maintenance department.
  • Coordinate safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale initiatives.
  • Drive throughput improvements and coordinate professional maintenance and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to hourly and supervisory team members regarding problem-solving techniques and corrective action implementation.
  • Apply general technical understanding of maintenance, Time-Based Maintenance (TBM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Dynamic Maintenance (DM).
  • Influence key performance indicators (KPIs), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Maintain equipment at basic conditions and support continuous improvement of equipment within the assigned area.
  • Address throughput, run-to-run, and downtime-related equipment issues in a production environment, supported by the Professional Maintenance Specialist (PMS) where applicable.
  • Directly supervise Skilled Trades employees.
  • Work with Skilled Trades staff to drive waste reduction through implementation of Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Professional Maintenance (PM), Quality Maintenance (QM), Focus Improvement (FI), and People Development (PD).
  • Actively participate in and lead Kaizen project activities focused on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements and waste reduction opportunities identified through cost deployment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management experience.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees, from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership.
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
  • Goal-oriented self-starter with the ability to lead teams.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop Skilled Trades employees.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field.
  • Experience with continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in a union environment.
  • Experience with controls, robotics, drives, and system-level communication systems.
  • Experience with various conveyance systems, welding, vision systems, and sensor use and application.
