Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of a diesel fleet maintenance department. You will supervise technicians, schedule repairs with the M5 Planner, and ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards.

You will mentor and develop your team, manage preventive maintenance, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy diesel truck maintenance experience.
• 1+ year in a leadership or lead tech role.
• Knowledge of engines, emissions, hydraulics and air brakes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling/budgeting tasks.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and lead from the front.

Job description

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of a maintenance department and the supervision of a team responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of fleet. Ensure all repairs and/or maintenance to equipment (diesel fleet, alternate fuel, containers, and other heavy-duty equipment) is performed in accordance with Company safety and compliance standards, and with all federal/state regulations.

• Command the Shop: Oversee the daily hustle of our maintenance department. You’re the conductor of this diesel-powered orchestra!
• Coach & Mentor: You aren’t just a boss; you’re a pro trainer. Lead, inspire, and develop a team of skilled technicians to be the best in the business.
• The Tech Wizard: Use the M5 Planner to schedule repairs, track parts, and ensure our fleet—from heavy-duty trucks to alternative fuel vehicles is in peak condition.
• Safety First, Always: Ensure every bolt is tight and every repair meets our gold-standard safety and federal/state regulations.
• Problem Solver: Dive into complex diagnostics and lead the way on advanced preventive maintenance.
