JOB TITLE: Maintenance Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
LOCATION: Tides
REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor assists in managing the Maintenance team and leads the team in performing diagnostic troubleshooting on all hotel equipment. This individual will also be in charge of monitoring quality of repairs and identifying building repair issues.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Allocate workload and supervise maintenance staff.
Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
Monitor electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems of facilities to ensure functionality.
Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
Ensure that designated buildings and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive. support/solutions when required.
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees Maintenance Technicians
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, or abilities
Experience: 2 to 3 years maintenance. Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role. Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.) Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations. Understanding of budgeting and performance management. Excellent planning and leadership abilities. An eye for detail.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems
Ability to keep track of and report on activity
Experience in planning maintenance operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent leadership and management skills
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members
Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making

Work Environment:
Often wear protective attire, such as work gloves, hard hats, leather aprons, back support, and sturdy boots. Usually work indoors, but may on occasion work outdoors repairing foundations and exteriors. Work in hazardous situations or with hazardous equipment weekly. Injuries are possible from electrical shocks, cuts, or falls. Are often exposed to machine sounds and noises that are distracting and uncomfortable. Work with contaminants often such as oils, solvents, and paints. May be exposed to very hot or cold temperatures weekly. Enter cramped workplaces monthly that require getting into awkward positions. Are sometimes in high places such as roofs or on ladders. Work in conditions of bright or inadequate lighting weekly. May work near others.
